Fact Friday: grace and peace

Grace and peace to you, blogosphere , from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,

Paul uses the greeting "Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ" in his epistles. Grace was a common greeting in Greek and peace was a common greeting in Hebrew. So by saying "grace and peace to you" Paul was saying "hi and hola," but he says more than that. He says "to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." Meaning he intended it as a hope for the recipients of the letters and not just a salutation.
